Palestinian author susan abulhawa has won her two-year fight against the Oxford Union’s censorship of her speech. Her November 2024 address, which the Union cut without her consent, is now back in full on its official channels. The European Legal Support Centre (ELSC), which represented her, welcomes the outcome. susan abulhawa’s speech belongs in the historical record of Israel’s livestreamed genocide in Gaza. In collaboration with Palestine solidarity activists, student groups, university workers and lawyers organizing on the ground in Austria, the European Legal Support Center (ELSC) has been submitting freedom of information requests to some of the largest universities and research institutions about their agreements and cooperation with Israeli public bodies, universities and companies, but have so far only received evasive and obstructive responses.

Am 18.08.2026 wurde der Frankfurter Verein Palästina e.V. durch das Hessische Innenministerium verboten und seine Räume sowie Wohnungen von Betroffenen durchsucht – obwohl sich der Verein bereits im November 2024 selbst aufgelöst hatte. Die Verbotsverfügung richtet sich auch gegen Personen, Social-Media-Accounts und palästinasolidarische Initiativen, die nie Teil des Vereins waren.
