  • Oxford Union: Stop the Censorship. Restore susan abulhawa’s Full Speech

In November 2024, Palestinian author susan abulhawa spoke at the Oxford Union about Israel’s genocide in Palestine. Her speech was watched online by over 250,000 people. The Oxford Union later took it down and reuploaded an edited version, cutting nearly two minutes without her consent and in breach of their own agreement. susan had accepted the invitation on the written condition that her speech would not be edited, the Oxford Union breached that agreement and undermined the rights of a Palestinian speaker to have her words preserved and shared in full.

ELSC is taking legal action against German Domestic Intelligence Services for surveilling Palestine solidarity groups

The European Legal Support Center (ELSC) is representing three Palestine Solidarity groups in Germany taking legal action to challenge the German Domestic Intelligence Service (Verfassungsschutz)’s surveillance.

The groups, Thawra Hamburg, BDS Berlin and Jewish Voice for a Just Peace in the Middle East – EJJP Germany e. V. (Jüdische Stimme für gerechten Frieden in Nahost), aim to push back against an escalating effort to intimidate and repress Palestine solidarity by German intelligence services.

Palestinian Symbols Banned at Holocaust Memorial Site Buchenwald, Germany

In a new legal case, the European Legal Support Center (ELSC)  is defending an antifascist activist’s right to commemorate at Holocaust memorial site Buchenwald, after she was banned and threatened with a criminal complaint by the memorial’s administration for wearing a Kufiya. This case challenges the criminalisation of Palestinian symbols and the role of memorial and cultural institutions in the repression of Palestine solidarity.

Where do we find hope? A letter from ELSC’s Executive Director

2025 has been a year of immense challenge and unwavering solidarity.
Amid an unrelenting genocide in Gaza and escalating repression across Europe, our work at the ELSC has grown stronger, more urgent, and more necessary than ever.
From historic mobilisations like the general strike in Italy, to our legal victories across Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and beyond, we continue to defend those standing for justice — and confront the systems that enable Israel’s violence.
This hope, this strength, comes from you.
As we look toward 2026, we are expanding our capacity to resist—and we ask for your support in our End of Year campaign.

  • We’re taking legal action against the German Government

Under the Justice and Accountability for Palestine Initiative, a coalition of lawyers, including the European Legal Support Center (ELSC), have submitted a 100-page criminal complaint to Germany’s Federal Prosecutor in Karlsruhe.
It names ten senior officials, from Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, for aiding and abetting genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity through their approval of arms exports to Israel.

  • Opposing genocide is a moral duty. Defend the right to political dissent.

The ELSC defends the Palestine solidarity movement across Europe and Britain. With 936 legal requests and 323 active cases since October 2023, we protect those targeted for resisting genocide. As governments escalate repression—banning protests, labeling activists as “extremists”—we urgently need your support. Legal defense is political resistance. Stand with us. Donate now.

  • Arsenal fired Mark for standing against genocide. Support the legal battle for reinstating him and Palestinian solidarity!

Mark Bonnick, Arsenal’s kit man, for 12 years and was self-employed for 10 years prior totalling 22 years of service and lifelong fan, was wrongfully fired for speaking out against Israel’s genocide in Gaza. While Arsenal’s billion-dollar industry profits from “unity” slogans, Arsenal silenced Mark, a working-class worker and lifelong supporter for speaking out against a live-streamed genocide.
