Europe’s Proscription of Palestine Solidarity – Online Webinar Registration

Join our webinar on Europe’s Proscription of Palestine Solidarity
on 13 November at 5:00 PM GMT/ 6:00 PM CET.

In light of the recent proscription of the group Palestine Action in Britain, the Monitor and Research Team at the European Legal Support Center (ELSC) has published a report examining the role of counterterrorism measures in repressing Palestine solidarity groups across Europe.

The research provides an analysis of legal frameworks and case studies from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and France, exposing a coordinated, transnational strategy to silence opposition to the Israeli genocide against Palestinians while maintaining European complicity. It details how vague legal definitions of “terrorism” and colonial-era mechanisms are weaponised to criminalise basic acts of solidarity, particularly targeting Muslim and Arab communities engaged in this work.

The webinar invites insights from activists, legal practitioners, and academic experts to speak to this expanding pattern of repression, its effects on political and anticolonial movements, as well as possible strategies to challenge criminalisation regimes across Europe.

Speakers

  1. Laleh Khalili, Professor of Middle Eastern Politics.
  2. Franck Magennis, public, civil and criminal defence barrister with specific expertise in legal claims connected to Palestinian emancipation from Israeli occupation.
  3. The legal coordinator of Urgence Palestine
