Strategic litigation, you will be part of the Advocacy &amp; Communication Team and:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-57892015-cb4a-4f95-b3d3-fc54093a66b2\">\r\n<li>Half of your time, work with the Senior Legal Officer and Monitor for The Netherlands to engage in public outreach; build campaigns to boost specific legal cases; get media coverage to achieve visibility and narrative change; make sure our victories are visible; grow and mobilise our network of supporters; coalition building and establishing relationships with activists on the ground in the Netherlands;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The other half will be dedicated to develop public outreach on strategic litigation cases pertaining to our <a href=\"https:\/\/elsc.support\/nl\/resources\/the-defunding-of-palestinian-organisations-and-their-allies-a-tactic-to-suppress-palestinian-voices-and-shield-israel-from-accountability-faq\/\">de-funding<\/a> and de-risking work (Palestinian and European organisations or individuals facing the suspension or cutting of funding, and facing bank de-risking, i.e. the restrictions on their bank accounts, transfers etc.), or cases aiming to hold private and public actors accountable for their complicity with war crimes in Palestine (for instance our <a href=\"https:\/\/elsc.support\/nl\/news\/booking-com-sued-for-laundering-profits-from-israeli-war-crimes-in-palestine\/\">case against Booking.com<\/a>).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p id=\"block-8f37cd03-a4bb-43eb-9b26-7f3d420f2aaa\"><strong>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE\u202f &amp; QUALIFICATIONS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-f90640f9-411f-48a5-a7ee-9235bd5197fa\">\r\n<li>Experience with campaigning, involvement in activist groups, grassroots or non-profit organisations, in particular with Palestine solidarity groups and \/ or other anti-colonial and anti-racist groups in the Netherlands.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Experience in convening and driving coalitions and networks and building relationships.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Demonstrated commitment to social justice and human rights, in particular the rights of the Palestinian people and the intersectional struggles connected to the Palestinian struggle for liberation.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p id=\"block-975befd4-a904-4611-8421-695e23897f7a\"><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES\u202f\u202f <\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-41125dce-81fa-4b95-8e62-db0bf5cf1505\">\r\n<li>Basic knowledge of Dutch and European Union law.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Demonstrated skills in communications and advocacy work.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Proficiency in English and Dutch with excellent written and spoken communication skills. English is the working language of the ELSC.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Good understanding and knowledge of the political and human rights situation in Palestine.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Teamwork skills and flexibility, ability to manage time and competing priorities, according to the current demands of the organisation.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Highly organised, strong attention to detail, driven, can work independently without direction.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload.\u202f\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Commitment to anti-racism and anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities.\u202f\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Willingness to travel and work occasional unsocial hours as required.\u202f\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>To be flexible within the broad remit of the post.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p id=\"block-7096d0d2-96cb-4ad4-ae50-784a90a82229\"><strong>DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-1e45d293-b278-4925-882d-a800f6fa391c\">\r\n<li>Graduate in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Journalism, Law, Sociology or other relevant fields.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree in a related field.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Proficiency in Arabic.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Experience with web development, graphic design, social media management or other digital communications experience and skills.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p id=\"block-76df895d-c25c-42e3-b547-8b47b1b61550\"><strong>MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-b9d0d36b-6c0d-4bc2-854d-dbf90a505357\">\r\n<li>In coordination with the Advocacy and Communication Team, develop and implement public outreach campaigns strategies, social media and media outreach, building and coordinating partners coalition, coordinating with the legal team etc.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Maintain and expand our network of support in the Netherlands through maintaining effective communication with activists and partner organisations.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Organise and facilitate in-person community events and\/or workshops with activists, academics, students and lawyers.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Draft and publish case summaries\/updates on the ELSC website, in coordination with the relevant legal officers for the Netherlands, De-funding-De-risking and strategic litigation.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Support the Digital Communications Officer to design and monitor relevant social media content: text, visuals and potential videos\/reels.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Organise and promote ELSC public events in the Netherlands.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Represent the ELSC in public events and interviews in the Netherlands.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Maintain and expand the ELSC network of journalists and media outlets in the Netherlands.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Maintain Dutch contact lists.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Assist with content production for the ELSC monthly Newsletter.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ELSC is hiring an Advocacy &#038; Communication Officer in Amsterdam to lead outreach on legal cases in the Netherlands and Europe.
