Legal victories and ongoing accountability efforts

Our work

DEFEND

We combine defensive strategies and impact litigation with monitoring, training, and advocacy to build collective power, while ensuring that our strategies are informed by the political contexts of the movement in solidarity with Palestine and contribute to movement goals.

Expose

We monitor, document, and analyse repressive measures and practices against Palestine advocates across Europe. Our reports reveal systematic and institutionalised forms of repression, illuminating patterns across sectors and countries to strengthen solidarity.

CHALLENGE

Through legal strategies, litigation, investigative research, and advocacy efforts, we aim to dismantle the structures that protect corporations, financial entities, and political institutions from accountability for their role in enabling ethnic cleansing, settlement expansion, and military aggression in Palestine.

  • Antifascist activist banned from Holocaust memorial for wearing a Kufiya

An antifascist activist was expelled from the Buchenwald concentration camp memorial for wearing a Kufiya. After banning her and threatening criminal charges, the memorial foundation defended the decision in court by claiming the Kufiya is linked to anti-Jewish positions. The ELSC is challenging this decision and fighting to have the ban declared unlawful.

  • Where do we find hope? A letter from ELSC’s Executive Director

2025 has been a year of immense challenge and unwavering solidarity.
Amid an unrelenting genocide in Gaza and escalating repression across Europe, our work at the ELSC has grown stronger, more urgent, and more necessary than ever.
From historic mobilisations like the general strike in Italy, to our legal victories across Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and beyond, we continue to defend those standing for justice — and confront the systems that enable Israel’s violence.
This hope, this strength, comes from you.
As we look toward 2026, we are expanding our capacity to resist—and we ask for your support in our End of Year campaign.

  • We’re taking legal action against the German Government

Under the Justice and Accountability for Palestine Initiative, a coalition of lawyers, including the European Legal Support Center (ELSC), have submitted a 100-page criminal complaint to Germany’s Federal Prosecutor in Karlsruhe.
It names ten senior officials, from Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, for aiding and abetting genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity through their approval of arms exports to Israel.
