Contract: Full-time, fixed term (six months, with potential for extension)
Salary:
– Salary band 9.2 – 9.4 (Junior Officer Roles)
– £26,460 – £31,920, depending on experience
– Progression up the scale after each annual review

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and document incidents of repression, ensuring data entry aligns with database methodology and quality standards
- Coordinate with the Legal Department on the registration of incidents and linkage to legal cases in ELSC’s internal systems
- Draft clear, concise case summaries for priority incidents
- Analyse, interpret, and evaluate research outcomes and emerging trends
- Support research design and contribute to methodological improvements within the Monitor and Research Department
- Apply and communicate research findings to inform internal discussions and external outputs
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including civil society organisations, activists, solidarity networks, and research institutions
Required Experience and Skills
- Genuine interest in working with the European Legal Support Centre (ELSC) and passion for defending Palestinian solidarity and providing access to justice for all
- Commitment to anti-racism, anti-discriminatory practices, and equal opportunities
- Proven experience in human rights or grassroots documentation, research, or data management
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Familiarity with database systems and data management tools
- Understanding of data protection, privacy, and ethical research standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage own workload in a busy environment to a consistently high standard and timely manner
- Ability to adapt to different audiences and engage with diverse groups
- Proven ability to work and contribute in a team environment
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office and Teams
Desirable
- Understanding the role of the ELSC and familiarity with Palestine solidarity in Britain
- Graduate degree in Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, Law, Data Science, or a related field
- Knowledge of relevant political and social contexts
- Experience in conducting semi-structured interviews
- Arabic speaking
